  A part of me is interested in religion if only its my own organized collections of beliefs and how I relate to my world and whether there is a supernatural.

  was just talking to a jw who just got back from oklahoma doing relief work for jws who had their homes damaged.

  i didn't know this, but he said that the process goes like this.

  the homeowner usually has a payout from the insurance company in hand.

  a customer on my route with whom i have had some lively debates was his number 1 complaint is that "the witnesses have so many rules".

  last month i agreed with on this issue.

  he asked why the change, i told him that i have been doing some soul searching.

  When I escaped the witnesses in 83. My son was 10. I used the time I no longer spent on meetings and field service and spent it on and with my son. My number 1 responsibility.

  I made sure he did his homework everynight before the televison came on. I encouraged him to play sports. I managed and coached his soccer and baseball teams and supported him in school wrestling. I made sure he was too busy to get involved in drugs or gangs.

  I always spent time doing things with my son. I bought a ski boat and we water skied all the time. One year we skied on Thanksgiving, Christmass and New Years day.

  I'd say that is what is called a failed suicide.

  You have a teenage child at home. You are between a rock and a hard place. They say don't change horses mid stream. But I think you might be on a dead horse that is sinking. I quit the tower when my son was 10 I was a ministerial servant and full time pioneer. I apologized to my son many times. He is now almost 40 with wife and 2 children. He has an education and career. From time to time we get invited to witness family functions weddings. We came from large Italian family. And my son is tempted to go to hall because of the fraternity. He says you cant find that anyplace else. But I tell him don't do it. They will take your mind and brain over and you will not be able to see or talk to me or your mother any more. I think you are procrastinating and it might come back to bite you. Sooner or later you have to take the bull by the horns and bite the bullet.

  If you want to believe in paradise go for it.

  Maybe in the end you become and get what you think about.

  If you want some support for that look into quantum physics.

  But if you want to believe in paradise and hold that thought stay away from here.

  You will not get any encouragement for such beliefs.

  Birds of a feather flock together and there are no paradise birds on this roost.

  How to act crazy enough not to have to go in FS or to meetings but not crazy enough to get committed to a mental health facility

  i was thinking if i acted a little off but not too far off the elders would tell me i'm not welcome in the door to door work.

  i wonder if this would work.

  there is a watchtower or awake article somewhere saying that a mentally ill person may be excused from the meetings and field service if his illness affected others.
